06/07/21 version
This modified version contains the fixes distributed in the 06/05/02 version, 06/04/18 version, and 05/12/16 version, as well as fixes for the following phenomena.

  • When searching for Chinese words in the Digital Multi Dictionary, the second word description in the "reason" character candidate for the seventh description was displayed incorrectly.

Version 06/05/02
This revised version corrects the information distributed in the 06/04/18 and 05/12/16 versions, and also corrects the following phenomena.

  • When multiple files are specified for conversion in the Chinese Text File Converter, the content of the previously specified file is not initialized.

06/04/18 version
This revised version corrects the information distributed in the 05/12/16 version and addresses the following issues.

  • An error message was displayed when exiting Ichitaro after using the IME in Ichitaro 2006.
  • The Digital Multi Dictionary has been corrected. (The version is 1.03.)
  • Fixed a forced termination problem when invoking the Digital Multi Dictionary using Translation Navigator or other applications.

05/12/16 version
This revised version includes the following fixes to address the following phenomena

  • Fixed the phenomenon of garbled characters or no display when pasting Pinyin in Kanji-Pinyin Converter or C-TIME in Ichitaro when running on Windows 98 or Me.
  • Corresponded to the startup delay of Chinese Hearing Lesson.
  • Fixed a display anomaly in the example sentences of the Chinese Digital Multi Dictionary.
  • Add-in code conversion for the Chinese character Pinyin conversion has been addressed the problem of abnormal termination when changing preferences in traditional Chinese characters.
  • Fixed a problem in which the font was not changed after code conversion in the Word add-in.

How to download and install

ChineseWriter8 - How to install and use the corrected version

After uninstalling, install the latest version of the update using the latest revision module.
For those who have already installed the correction
module for "06/05/02 - 05/12/16 Edition"
  1. If you have already installed the correction module for 06/05/02 - 05/12/16 Edition using "cw8.exe" additionally, before applying this correction module, please perform the following operations to 06/05 Uninstall the correction module distributed in the 06/05/02 to 05/12/16 editions by performing the following operations before applying this correction module.
  3. Click [Start]-[Control Panel]-[Add or Remove Programs]

    Click "ChineseWriter8 Update" from the list of program names displayed

Click the [Change/Remove] button to uninstall ( Click the [Change/Remove] button to uninstall (delete) the program.
  1. Click [Start Download] of "ChineseWriter8 - Change and Correction Files" at the back of this page.

  2. Set the download destination to your desktop or a folder "My Documents" where you can easily find it later.
    Download the file to your computer and save it. Do not run the program or open the file without downloading it.

  3. Do not change the file name, which is initially &QUOT ;cw8.exe".

  4. When &QUOT ;cw8.exe" finishes downloading, close the screen and exit your browser (Internet Explorer, etc.).

  5. Go to the folder where you saved the downloaded file.
    *If you downloaded the file to the desktop, it is located on the desktop.

  6. Double-click &QUOT ;cw8.exe" directly. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the installation.

  7. Restart Windows.
