How to download and install

Downloading

09/10/01 version (= the latest version)
*The latest version includes all previous revisions.

• The contents of the program have been substantially modified.

07/03/01 version

• When a document with vertical characters was recognized and the window size was reduced in document proofing, the scroll bar was pushed to the lower right corner.

06/10/11 version

• When using BIG5's IME (input system) on the document proofing screen after traditional Chinese character recognition, the input characters were garbled.
• When using Windows 2000/XP, ChinaScan4 could not be started without administrator privileges, but this problem has been corrected so that it can be started even by restricted users without administrator privileges.

ChinaScan4 - How to install and use the modified version

1. Click "Start Download" of "ChinaScan4 - Correction File" at the back of this page.

2. Set the download destination to your desktop or a folder "My Documents" where you can easily find it later.
   (Please download and save the files to your computer. Do not open the file without downloading it).

3. The file name is initially &QUOT ;cs4up.exe", so do not change it.

4. When cs4up.exe has finished downloading, close the Internet Explorer site page.

5. Navigate to the folder where the downloaded files are stored.
   (If you downloaded the files to your desktop, they are located on your desktop.)

6. Double-click the downloaded cs4up.exe directly to launch the ChinaScan4 - Correction File installer. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the installation.

After installation is complete, you may delete the "cs4up.exe" file you used.

After the installation is completed, the date of the file "C:\Program Files\KODENSHA\ChinaScan4\cscan4.exe" will be changed to 07/02/28.
