With the release of &QUOT ;ChineseWriter8" on November 18, 2005, we will offer an upgrade service to our registered users.

We will send out the information to users sequentially from the beginning of November.

   In addition to the Shogakukan "Japanese-Chinese Dictionary" and "Chinese-Japanese Dictionary" that have been popular in the series up to now, the "Chinese-Japanese Dictionary Revised Second Edition" and "Chinese New Words Business Dictionary" by Daishukan Shoten, which are well known among Chinese language users, and "Japanese-Chinese PC Dictionary" by Nikkei BP Inc. are now available in the dictionary.

   In response to many requests, we have added support for Cantonese input, the predominant language used in Hong Kong and Macau, and the only one in Japan to do so. You can choose your preferred input method from three patterns: Kuril Island style, Yale style, and Hong Kong Linguistic Society style. (Survey as of November 2005)

   This is a convenient tool that can be used by one-clicking the icon button of the function you want to use in the form of a toolbar. You can look up words in the application with the Chinese Digital Multi Dictionary or pronounce them with the Chinese Voice.

   This is a new function that allows you to convert Chinese codes and character types entered or displayed in Word with a single click.

Notes on Version Upgrade

The new version is installed in a different folder from the old version and has a different file structure, so even if the old version is already installed, it will not &QUOT ;overwrite" the new version .
However, the font file registered in the Windows system area uses the same name as the previous font, so if a Chinese font from the previous version is included, it will be skipped when the new version is installed. If you do not want to use the old version, we recommend that you uninstall all fonts, including those of the old version, before installing the new version.

If you have registered words in the previous version, please make a backup of the dictionary before uninstalling the previous version .
The backed up dictionary can be merged with the new dictionary using the new version's user word transfer program.

ChineseWriter8 does not provide a selector; due to Windows specification changes, please use the language bar to switch input systems instead of the selector . The IME selector and language selector of previous versions are also not supported, so please deactivate them.

This product cannot be installed on a LAN server and used by multiple clients .

Only CD-ROM is available as the supply media .
