China Scan 2 Version Upgrade Information
    &QUOT ; With the release of
    China Scan 2&QUOT

    ; on September 6, 2002, we will offer an upgrade service

    to our registered users. We will start sending out the information to our users in late August.

    Major upgrade points:

  • Color document recognition is now possible.

    Previously, a document had to be imported in monochrome binary (OCR) format in order to be recognized as text.

  • Chinese Writer (GB) IME included

    In the previous version, it was not possible to correct recognized characters without purchasing Chinese Writer V4/V5/V6 (sold separately), etc. China Scan 2 comes with Chinese Writer (GB) IME for correction input, so you can use Chinese Writer V4/V5/V6 without using Chinese Writer V4/V5/V6. If you do not have Chinese Writer V4/V5/V6, you can directly input and correct the recognized characters.

Notes on upgrading

    The new version will be installed in a different folder from the old version and will have a different file structure, so even if the old version is already installed, it will not be &QUOT ;overwritten&QUOT

    Supported models Computer with Intel Pentium 133 MHz or higher, or Intel compatible CPU, running the above OS normally
    Type Scanner Image scanner compatible with TWAIN (32-bit version) or TWAIN (32-bit) compatible scanner driver (*TWAIN 16-bit driver cannot be used)
    Memory 64 MB or more
    Hard disk In addition to 70MB or more of free space, 50MB or more is required separately as work area
    Printer Printer compatible with TrueType fonts.
    *If the printer does not support multinational post (GB code/BIG5 code), data created with China Scan 2 cannot be printed.
