What about Mother's Day and Father's Day in Korea?

Yesterday, May 9 (Sunday), was Mother's Day.

Korea also has a Mother's Day, but it is a little different from Japan.

In Korea, May 8 is called 어버이날 (read: oboinaru) every year,

It is a day to thank your parents.

Yes, while in Japan, Mother's Day and Father's Day are separated,

In Korea, we express our gratitude on the same day.

 

In Korea, we express our gratitude to our parents on the same day.

Father's Day is the same day as Mother's Day.

 

Incidentally, the custom of giving carnations is the same as in Japan!
