ChineseWriter IME (input system, toolbar) disappeared
Subject ChineseWriter10, ChineseWriter11
Procedure

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the removal of ChineseWriter's GB IME and BIG5 IME due to a new Microsoft specification after updating the OS to Windows 10 or running the automatic Windows program update.
If you experience the above problem, please restore the ChineseWriter IME by following the instructions below.

If the input system of ChineseWriter 11 is no longer displayed

*Refer to User's Manual p.64 and PDF Manual p.202 "A2"
[Operation Procedure]
①Right-click the Start button to start "Explorer".
② Left-click "Windows (or) C drive" of "PC",
(displayed) Left-click "Program Files (x86)"
④ Left-click "KODENSHA",
⑤ Left-click "ChineseWriter11",
⑥ Left-click "IME_ResetV11.exe"
Double-click "IME_ResetV11.exe" to start the repair program.
Click "OK" and execute the following setting process.

Follow the dialog box (guidance) that appears.
When the User Account Control message is displayed, click "Yes".
Click "Reset IME" -> Click "OK".
Click "Sign out" and then click "OK".
Sign in again, start up your PC, display the desktop screen, and check if the IME has been restored (see below).


Check if ChineseWriter10 GB and BIG5 are displayed in Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese (Traditional) respectively in the "Language" setting of Windows, and if there are any [Unavailable Items] remaining.

① Click [Start] button
② Click [Settings (gear icon)]
③ Click [Time and Language] - [Region and Language (upper left of screen)] - [Language]
④ Click Chinese (People's Republic of China)
⑤ Click [Options], ChineseWriter11 GB is available. If [Unavailable Items] remains, click [Unavailable Items] - Click [Delete]
⑥ Click Chinese (Taiwan)
⑤ Click [Options] and check if ChineseWriter11 BIG5 is available. If [Unavailable Items] remains, click [Unavailable Items] - Click [Delete].

2. Check the input system of Digital Multi Dictionary.

Start Digital Multi Dictionary and check if the following settings are made in "Settings (S)" - "Input System (E)" on the menu bar.
(*If the following settings are not made, click "▼" and change to the following settings)
Japanese: TSF:Microsoft IME etc.
Chinese: ChineseWriter11 (GB)


■If the input system of ChineseWriter10 is no longer displayed

Please try "any" of the following two operations.

(1) Adapt the IME reconfiguration program

[Operation Procedure]

1) Open the compressed file and save "IMECW10.ex" into the following ChineseWriter10 folder.
In case of 64bit version C:\Program Files(x86)\KODENSHA\ChineseWriter10
In case of 32bit version C:\Program Files\KODENSHA\ChineseWriter10
(2) Rename the saved ".exe for IMECW10" to "IMECW10.exe". (This is because it was not possible to attach the file with ".exe", so we are sending it to you after changing the name.)
③ Double-click "IMECW10.exe" to start the ChineseWriter10 IME setup program.
(4) Click "OK" to execute the following setting process.

When the User Account Control message is displayed, click "Yes".
Click "Reset IME" -> Click "OK".
Click "Sign out" and then click "OK".
Sign in again, start up your PC, display the desktop screen, and check if the IME has been restored (see below).

⑤ Click [Options] and check if ChineseWriter10 BIG5 is available. If [Unavailable Items] remains, click [Unavailable Items] - Click [Delete

2. Check the input system of Digital Multi Dictionary.

Start Digital Multi Dictionary and check if the following settings are made in "Settings (S)" - "Input System (E)" on the menu bar.
(*If the following settings are not made, click "▼" and change to the following settings)
Japanese: TSF:Microsoft IME etc.
Chinese: ChineseWriter10(GB)

(2) Reinstalling software

1) Uninstall ChineseWriter10 (from the Control Panel)
