   When using this product by logging into Windows NT/Windows 2000/Windows XP with a user name different from that of the installation

Technical Information Supplemental explanation when using Windows NT/Windows 2000/Windows XP
This is not necessary if you are using Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP and you logged in with the same user name as when installing the software. Only if you have logged in with a different user name, please perform the following operation the first time you use the software. (This procedure is not necessary from the next time of use.)

Setup Procedure 1
The setting procedure varies depending on the environment of your computer. Please select the corresponding type from the table below and follow the steps for each type.

 Office XP is not installed. Office XP is installed
Windows NT Type 1 Type 3
Windows 2000 Type 2
Windows XP Type 4

Type 1
  1. Select [Control Panel] - [Keyboard].
    ↓↓
  2. [Under "Keyboard Properties," click on the "Language" tab.
    ↓
  3. Click the [Add] button to display the "Add Language" dialog box as shown below.

    [Select "Chinese (PRC)" under "Language (L)" and click the "OK" button.
    ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓
  4. The "Language Properties" dialog box appears as shown below.

    [Select "Chinese Writer V5(GB)" under "Keyboard Layout(K)" and click the "OK" button.

    • Select "Chinese Writer V6(GB)" for Chinese Writer V6.
    • Select "ChineseWriter7(GB)" for ChineseWriter7.
    • Select "ChineseWriter8(GB)" for ChineseWriter8.

  5. Click the [Add] button to display the "Add Language" dialog box.
    [Select "Chinese (Taiwan)" under "Language (L)" and click the "OK" button.

  6. The "Language Properties" dialog box appears.
    [Select "Chinese Writer V5(BIG5)" under "Keyboard Layout(K)" and click the "OK" button.

    • Select "Chinese Writer V6(BIG5)" for Chinese Writer V6.
    • Select "ChineseWriter7(BIG5)" for ChineseWriter7.

  7. Click the [Add] button to display the "Add Language" dialog box.
    [Select "Japanese" for "Language (L)" and click the "OK" button.

  8. The "Language Properties" dialog appears.
    [Select "Chinese Writer V5(CW)" under "Keyboard Layout(K)" and click the "OK" button.

    • For Chinese Writer V6, select "Chinese Writer V6(CW)".
    • Select "ChineseWriter7(CW)" for ChineseWriter7.

  9. [In "Keyboard Properties", click the "OK" button to finish the setting.
Type 2
  1. Select [Control Panel] - [Keyboard].

  2. [In "Keyboard Properties," click the "Input Locale" tab.

  3. Click the [Add] button to display the "Add Input Locale" dialog box as shown below.

    Select "Chinese (China)" for [Input Locale (I)] and "Chinese Writer V5 (GB)" for [Keyboard Layout/Input System (K)], then click [OK] button.

  4. Click the [Add] button to display the "Add Input Locale" dialog box.
    [Select "Chinese (Taiwan)" for "Input Locale (I)" and "Chinese Writer V5 (BIG5)" for "Keyboard Layout/Input System (K)" and click the "OK" button.

  6. [In "Keyboard Properties", click the "OK" button to finish the setting.
Type 3
  1. Select [Control Panel] - [Keyboard].

  2. [Under Keyboard Properties, click the Input Locale tab (or Language tab).
    ↓ ↓
  3. Click the [Change] button to display the Text Service dialog.
    ↓
  4. Click the [Add] button under "Installed Services (S)," and the "Add Input Language" dialog box will appear as shown below.

    Select "Chinese (PRC)" (or "Chinese (PRC)") for "Input Language (I)" and "Chinese Writer V5 (GB)" for "Keyboard Layout/Input System (K)" and click "OK" button.
    *If there is no check box next to the left side of "Keyboard Layout/Input System(K)", check the box and select the input system.

    • For Chinese Writer V6, select "Chinese Writer V6(GB)".
    • Select "ChineseWriter7(GB)" for ChineseWriter7.

  5. Click the "Add" button under "Installed Services" to display the "Add Input Language" dialog box.

    *If there is no check box next to the left side of "Keyboard Layout/Input System(K)", check the box and select the input system.

  7. In the Text Service dialog, click the "OK" button to exit the setup.
Type 4
  1. Select [Control Panel]-[Regional and Language Options
    ↓ ↓
  2. [In the Regional and Language Options Properties, click the Languages tab.
    ↓
  3. Click the [Advanced] button to open the Text Services and Input Languages dialog.
    ↓
  4. Click the "Add" button under "Installed Services (I)" to display one of the following "Add Input Language" dialogs, depending on your environment.


    Select "Chinese (China)" for "Input Language (I)" and "Chinese Writer V5 (GB)" for "Keyboard Layout/Input System (K)" and click the "OK" button.
    *If there is no check box next to the left side of "Keyboard Layout/Input System(K)", check the box and select the input system.

    • For Chinese Writer V6, select "Chinese Writer V6(GB)".
    • Select "ChineseWriter7(GB)" for ChineseWriter7.
    • Select "ChineseWriter8(GB)" for ChineseWriter8.

  5. Click the "Add" button under "Installed Services (I)" to display the "Add Input Language" dialog box.
    Select "Chinese (Taiwan)" for "Input Language (I)" and "Chinese Writer V5 (BIG5)" for "Keyboard Layout/Input System (K)" and click the "OK" button.
    *If there is no check box next to the left side of "Keyboard Layout/Input System(K)", check the box and select the input system.

    • For Chinese Writer V6, select "Chinese Writer V6(BIG5)".
    • Select "ChineseWriter7(BIG5)" for ChineseWriter7.
    • Select "ChineseWriter8(BIG5)" for ChineseWriter8.

  6. Click the "Add" button under "Installed Services (I)" to display the "Add Input Language" dialog box.
    Select "Japanese" for "Input Language (I)" and "Chinese Writer V5 (CW)" for "Keyboard Layout/Input System (K)" and click the "OK" button.
    *If the left side of "Keyboard Layout/Input System(K)" is not checked, check the box and select the input system.

    • Select "ChineseWriter7(CW)" for ChineseWriter7.
    • Select "ChineseWriter8(CW)" for ChineseWriter8.

  7. In the Text Services and Input Languages dialog, click the "OK" button to finish the setting.


[Setting Step 2
Open Explorer and double-click the preferences program (CwenvV5.EXE) from the Chinese Writer V5 folder (C:\CHNWRTV5) to execute it.
For Chinese Writer V6 Folder name (C:\CHNWRTV6) Program name (CwenvV6.EXE)
In the case of ChineseWriter 7 or 8, the operation described in Step 2 is not necessary.

When executing the setup program, follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
