Technical Information We have compiled a FAQ about downloadable software purchased from Takadensha's official download sales site, based on past questions to our support.

Q. Is Buddy Launcher required for installation?

A. Yes, it is required. Please install the software with the Buddy Launcher running.

Q. Can I use the downloaded file to install on a different computer than the one on which I downloaded the software?

A. Yes, as long as the "Buddy Launcher" is running.

Q. Do I need to be connected to the Internet during installation?

A. Yes. A. Yes, an Internet connection is required during installation because the Buddy Launcher is being authenticated.

Q. During installation, I am asked to enter my "Registration No." and "Product Key.

A. After purchasing the software from the official Kodensha download sales site, you will be asked to enter the "Registration No." and "Product Key" on the screen or by e-mail when you complete your purchase. Please replace "ProductNo." with "Registration No." and "ProductKey" with "Product Key.
We have improved the terminology used to describe "Registration No." and "ProductKey" to be consistent in e-mails from the purchase service for downloadable versions since mid-May 2008.

Q. An error occurred when I unzipped the downloaded file on a USB memory stick or CD-ROM.

A. Buddy Launcher can only authenticate in the local hard disk environment; it cannot decompress files placed in external media areas such as USB memory sticks or CD-ROMs. Please place the downloaded file on your local hard disk and double-click on it to extract it.

Q. Can the installation file in the folder created after unzipping the downloaded file be installed from anywhere on the computer?

A. No. Except for the "Translation Walker Series," "Dictionary Walker Series," and "Travel Walker Series" of PDA software, standard Windows PC software requires the "Buddy Launcher" authentication operation for installation and startup. Therefore, please place the unzipped folder and files on your local hard disk before installing the software.
